Genesis 1:1-6:8
“In the beginning, G-d created the Heavens and the Earth”
The universe was created, out of nothing, in 6 days. Darkness, then light. The separation of the heavens. Land and Sea. Fixing the position of the Sun, Moon, and stars. Creating reptiles, birds, mammals, plant life, and then humans. Finally, on the seventh day, G-d sanctified as a day of rest.
The first man was Adam. Out of Adam came Eve. The serpent duped Eve into eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel. Cain slays Abel and is cursed to be a rootless wanderer. Eve bears a third son, Seth. Eight generations later Noah is born.
G-d is disappointed in humanity but Noah is in his favor.
